QWKRR Source Files Released

QWKRR128 Home | Upgrade Notes | Files | FAQs | Docs | Source

Due to lack of time for future development on this project, all QWKRR files have now been released under the GNU public licence. In short, what this means is that anyone is able to download, use and modify the files in anyway they see fit, however, any such modifications must also be made available to the public under the GNU licence.

ftp://ftp.videocam.net.au/cbm/qwk/qwkrr/devel/

The directory currently contains six files. They are :

readme.txt

(Very similar to this message)

qwkrr51-bin.zip

These are the latest distributed QWKRR binary files available. I'm not sure if these are identical to the latest _public_ distribution or not.

All I know for sure is that these working binaries were assembled from the source files that are also available in this directory.

qwkrr51-src.zip

These are the source files in TASM format that were used to compile the binaries above.

reggen.bin
This is the Commodore 128 program to create registration codes for QWKRR.

reggen-src.zip

These are the source files to create the binary program that is currently used to generate valid registration codes for the main binaries.

These sources probably aren't required as future developers might like to remove all the registration related code in order to conserve memory for something more important. However, I've included them as an aid for those of you attempting to convert the TASM format sources into something you are more comfortable with. (its easier to test/check such conversions on a short piece of code such as this, than trying to modify the main files and not being sure if its viable or not).

tasm30.zip

This is the freely distributable assembler that I used for assembling the sources. It's reasonable quick, quite adaptable and versatile, and most of all, its small and will run on even the lowest end PC's.

licence.txt

Copy of the GNU licence

Rod
