64JPX Nearing Production
Nick Coplin, creator of the 64HDD and other devices for Commodore computers, is now working on a new project called the 64JPX. This is what he has to say about it:
"I've been quietly working on a small interface to adapt joypads and enhance their functionality for Commodore and Atari users. Currently support is for Sega Genesis/Megadrive and PC analog controllers, and am finalising support for SNES joypads. For details visit
SC3 Arcade Party on Sept. 27!
The SC3 Arcade Party comes around on September 27, 2008. Not only are there plenty of video arcade machines and modern consoles to play, there will also be Commodore and Amiga systems set up with games. The Southern California Classic Collectors Arcade Party starts at 6:00 p.m. and ends "sometime after midnight." The location -- Claremont (Los Angeles area), California. read more »

CBM Engineers' interview on-line!
CBM engineer Bil Herd suggested the idea of a video conference in this year's CommVEx, instead of the usual pre-recorded, yearly CBM Animals video. He had rounded up Andy Finkel, CBM engineer who worked on the VIC-20, C64, and Amiga, as the focus of this conference.
Due to hardware issues, the video interview became a telephone interview. That 1 hour, 40 minute telephone interview is now on-line! It is broken up into 4 parts of about 6-8 megs each (22-30 minutes for each part). read more »
Micropalooza '08 this Thursday and Friday!
The Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade (http://www.groundkontrol.com) has announced the return of Micropalooza, Portland, Oregon's first 2-Day Chiptune Music Festival! Chiptune music is made using video games such as the the Atari 2600, the Nintendo Gameboy and NES, as well as 8-bit computers such as the Commodore C64. Though more popular in Europe, Chiptune music is quickly catching on in the US. read more »
1541 Ultimate v1.1 update
Gideon Zweijtzer has announced a v1.1 firmware update for the 1541 Ultimate device. Bugs have been squashed, and enhancements have been made, such as Retro Replay and Super Snapshot emulations. For more information, go to http://www.1541ultimate.net/content/

The bi-monthly show, held in Maarssen, the Netherlands, had an attendance of 50-60 persons this time. Co-organizer Ron van Schaik stated that attendance is higher in the winter months, because people want to be indoors.
The next Netherlands Commodore Show is Saturday, August 16.
